Characteristics of a graph

 Characteristics & Traits

  • Domain - x values
  • Range - y value
  •  End Behavior - the description of what happens to a graph at both ends
  • Absolute Max/Min - the highest and lowest point on the graph
  • Local Max/Min - More than 1 of the highest and lowest points on a graph
  • Interval of Increase - what happens to a graph (y value) (how high) as you move along the x axis
  • Interval of Decrease - what happens to a graph (y value) (how low) as you move along the x axis
  • X Intercept - where the graph passes the X axis
  • Y Intercept - where the graph passes the Y axis

  • Odd Symmetric - rotational symmetry about origin
  • Even Symmetric - symmetric about Y-axis
  • Neither Symmetric - None
